Reverend Henry Caldwell was born and raised in Columbia, S.C. He graduated from Columbia High School, where he played sports. He was a high school All-American in basketball and went to college on a basketball scholarship at the University North Carolina Charlotte. He was on the 1977 Final Four basketball team. Henry graduated from college in 1977 with a BA degree in Political Science. While in Charlotte, he served as a minister with the Siegel Ave Church of God, under Pastor W.D. Bailey.
A job change took him to the Midwestern states of Michigan and Nebraska. When he relocated back to North Carolina he became part of the First Church of God in Raleigh in 2003. He served as a minister of church as President of the men ministry. He became interim pastor in 2012. Rev Caldwell accepted the call of pastorate on July 3, 2016. Pastor Caldwell is married to his lovely wife Martha. They have four sons; Kevin, Henry, Jason and Julius Jr. They also have seven beautiful grandchildren; Savannah, Lily, Keciah, Ivy, Ayrton, Crystanie and Hope.
